|For the control of certain aphids on crops and pastures.
Chemical Group carbamates
Fill tank 50 to 75% full then start agitation. Slowly pour granules into tank and maintain agitation throughout spraying.
DO NOT pre-mix OSPRAY PIRIMICARB granules.
If this product is applied when the temperature is less than 15C it is essential to have thorough spray coverage for quick and total aphid control.
Fruit Crops - Tree and Vine Crops:
Use a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of water up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy. Apply sufficient water to cover the crop to the point of run-off. Avoid excessive run-off. The required water volume may be determined by applying different test volumes, using different settings on the sprayer, from industry guidelines or expert advice. Add the amount of product specifi ed in the Directions For Use table for each 100L of water. Spray to the point of run-off. The required dilute spray volume will change and the sprayer set up and operation may also need to be changed, as the crop grows.
Use a sprayer designed and set up for the concentrate spraying (that is a sprayer which applies water volumes less than those required to reach the point of run-off) and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy using your chosen water volume. Determine an appropriate dilute spray volume (See Dilute Spraying above) for the crop canopy. This is needed to calculate the concentrate mixing rate. The mixing rate for concentrate can then be calculated in the following way:
1. Dilute spray volume as determined above: For example 1500L/ha.
2. Your chosen concentrate spray volume: For example 500L/ha.
3. The concentration factor in this example is: 3x (ie 1500L/500L=3).
4. If the dilute label rate is 10mL/100L, then the concentrate rate becomes 3x10, that is 30mL/100L of concentrate spraying.
The chosen spray volume, amount of product per 100L of water and the sprayer set up and operation may need to be changed as the crop grows. For further information on concentrate spraying, users are advised to consult relevant industry guidelines, undertake appropriate competency training and follow industry Best Practices.
OSPRAY PIRIMICARB may be mixed in the spray vat with any one of the following products: 600g/L non-ionic surfactant and Omite. A mixture of OSPRAY PIRIMICARB with more than one of these products or with any other product may be ineffective or may cause serious damage. The use of such a mixture is not recommended and would therefore be entirely at the user's risk.
Insecticide Resistance Warning
For insecticide resistance management Ospray Pirimicarb WG Aphicide is a Group 1A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to OSPRAY PIRIMICARB and other Group 1A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if OSPRAY PIRIMICARB or other Group 1A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of OSPRAY PIRIMICARB on resistant individuals could be signifi cantly reduced.
Since occurrence of resistant individuals is diffi cult to detect prior to use Ospray Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of OSPRAY PIRIMICARB to control insects. OSPRAY PIRIMICARB may be subject to specific resistant management strategies. For further information contact your local supplier, Ospray representative or local agricultural department agronomist.
RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT FOR GREEN PEACH APHID CONTROL
Some Green Peach Aphids are resistant to all commonly used insecticides including OSPRAY PIRIMICARB. If resistance is known or suspected, do not use OSPRAY PIRIMICARB and seek advice on resistance management. If there is no OSPRAY PIRIMICARB resistance, use a maximum of 2 non- consecutive aphid sprays per season. If OSPRAY PIRIMICARB was used as the last aphid spray for the season, do not use it as the first aphid spray next season.
DO NOT apply from the air when the crosswind is less than 3 km/hr.
Protection of wildlife, fish, crustaceans and environment
DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with this product or used containers.
DO NOT apply under meteorological conditions (eg. crosswinds less than 3 km/ hr) or from spraying equipment which could be expected to cause spray to drift onto adjacent areas, particularly wetlands, waterbodies or watercourses.
Product is poisonous if absorbed by skin contact, inhaled or swallowed. Repeated minor exposure may have a cumulative poisoning effect. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. DO NOT inhale dust or spray mist. Obtain an emergency supply of atropine tablets 0.6mg. When opening the container, preparing spray and using the prepared spray wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, or equivalent clothing, elbow-length PVC gloves, face shield or goggles. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. After use and before eating, drinking or smoking wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water. After each day's use, wash gloves, face shield and contaminated clothing.
Store in the closed original container in a dry, well-ventilated area, as cool as possible, out of direct sunlight. Store in a locked room or place away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed and fertilizers.
1kg: Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals onsite. If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
5, 10kg: Single rinse before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals onsite. Puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots.
